REACH is excited to continue to grow and respond to the dynamic needs of our Redmond community with the introduction of the Kindergarten Experience.  REACH is working with Redmond Early Learning Center (RELC) to ensure a developmentally appropriate experience for our youngest participants by creating after school activities that are designed specifically for Kindergarteners.  REACH strongly believes in the value of a mixed-age experience, however it is also true that Kindergarteners require an experience that provides continuity as they transition from their Kindergarten to REACH.

Beginning in the fall of 2019, REACH will offer a Kindergarten Experience with fewer transitions and less interaction with older youth.  REACH has created a unique, nurturing space for this age group, and will provide a designated Kindergarten Activities Specialist to be with the youth from the time school is out, until guardian pickup at REACH.  Through consistency and age targeting, both REACH and RELC will be synchronized in their approach to meet the needs of our kindergarten youth. The new program will also allow REACH to accept more Kindergarteners and may help to reduce the number of youth on the waiting list.  In addition, the REACH Kindergarten Activities Specialist will participate with RELC staff in trainings and workshops to further ensure continuity between RELC and REACH.

We are grateful for this partnership and pleased to be able to offer this program to our REACH families!
